In the third episode of the Migrant Sound series, Identity, Boiler Room meets four children of the Windrush generation to discover the impact that both Caribbean and UK music had upon their identities. The episode shines a light on the struggle to establish a voice in an institutionally racist Britain, and how subcultures such as punk proved the perfect melting pot for an unheard generation.

Migrant Sound is a youthful celebration of migration and its impact on the UK’s music and culture. Combining broad societal stories with personal family anecdotal histories, the series will allow for emotional storytelling mixed with vibrant visuals of migrant culture, told through the lens of youth past and present.
